Ozark Challenge News

Arkansas's original adventure race is back for our 11th anniversary. The 2008 Ozark Challenge Sprint is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th at Byrd's Adventure Center. The sprint course will be similar in length and difficulty to previous years, covering up to 50 miles in 6 to 10 hours. Support is optional and spectators are welcome.

Entry fees are as follows:
» Sprint 3 or 4-person (coed only) - $95 per racer
» Sprint 2-person (any format) - $95 per racer
» Sprint Solo (any format) - $135 per racer

As in previous years the Ozark Challenge requires skill at orienteering, mountain biking, whitewater paddling and other activities. What Is The Ozark Challenge Adventure Race?
Adventure Racing, America's fastest-growing team sport, requires athletes to locate remote checkpoints while navigating many miles of wilderness. Relying heavily on outdoor skills such as orienteering, paddling, climbing and biking, each team must complete any given race together as a unit in order to finish. Featuring Arkansas' most rugged and spectacular terrain, the Ozark Challenge includes trekking, mountain biking, whitewater canoeing, and rock climbing sections that test elite and entry-level adventure racers alike.
